Toronto, ON; April 24, 2012 – Drake, Redman, Rick Ross, Big Sean,
JRDN and Nicki Minaj are but a handful of artists guided by the Maestro
Producers who are speaking at the 2012 It Starts With The DJ conference held in Toronto on May 26th, 2012. The conference will feature keynote interviews with Wu-Tang member Raekwon and Toronto rising star rapper JD Era.
Stylus Group Co-Founder David “Click” Cox shares, “This year’s
conference is going to be killer, the best yet. The speakers are
incredible, and joined by a producer panel of some of the best in the
business. A fantastic kick off to the Stylus weekend for sure!”
Held at the Jackman Hall – Art Gallery of Ontario (317 Dundas Street
W.), doors open at 12 noon, with tickets available for $10 CND at the
door. The 2012 Spinfest weekend involves three-days of celebratory
events that include conferences, workshops, trade shows and parties to
name a few, leading up to the big awards show finale on May 28th!
Hundreds of guests, artists and performers are slated to attend the
Stylus Awards, which will also feature special performances and hall of
fame inductions.
About the Conference
Keynote: Featuring A Live Interview with RAEKWON (Wu-Tang Clan) & JD ERA (Ice H2O)
This keynote discussion will provide a first-hand look into the
background and future for Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon’s new label Ice
H20, his decisions in signing the label’s first two Emcees; JD Era and
Gangis Khan AKA Camoflauge, and what listeners can expect from his new
movement.

Round 1: Producer Panel – Innovating the Industry 1:00pm – 2:15pm
This panel will feature some of Toronto’s leading producers and
songwriters, sharing their stories and insight on gaining success within
the industry, along with their insight on the challenges and benefits
with technology.
Round 2: Keynote Interview with Raekwon & JD Era (ICE H2O Canada) 2:30pm – 3:45pm
Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon will be speaking on the making of his
Canadian label ICE H20 Records and what the future holds for developing
artists and building careers of the unseen talent from across the
country.
Round 3: One on One – Creating Relationships 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Back by popular demand, one hour will be dedicated to the importance
of networking. Each artist will book five minutes with one of the
advisors of their choice, and either play their music and receive
feedback or advice. Once their five minutes have been completed, the
artist will proceed to the next person on his appointment schedule and
continue until their entire schedule has been completed.This year’s 7th Annual Stylus Awards sponsored by Pioneer
DJ will be hosted by comedic sensation TRIXX. The 2012 Stylus Awards
will be held at the Danforth Music Hall located at 147 Danforth
