EVENT:CARIFIESTA 2012

On Saturday, Montreal celebrated the 37th annual Carifiesta parade presented by the Caribbean Cultural Festivities Association. Hosted by Global correspondent Zeeta Maharaj, the parade began at the corner of Guy and René-Levesque Boulevard and ended at Phillips Square.

The Sounds and smells of the Caribbean filled the air as masqueraders wine their waist along the parade route to glee of the crowd of 20000.  





Among the highlights of the parade was the introduction of Miss Teen Carnival, the bands Montreal Carnival Vibrations, Banzawa, Roots Cultural Association, Guyanese Association, Carnival Freaks Mas Band and many more. 



Founded in 1975,Carifiesta is North America's second greatest Caribbean carnival of importance in Canada.


Floats played the latest Soca/Reggae and some special guest came to town soak up the fun we see you Mr.Traffik Man "Eddie Charles".

 

Carifiesta 2012 was a wonderful celebration and a fun way to kick off the Summer, till next year.
