Dancehall star David "Mavado" Brooks, is due back in court on April 23rd for malicious destruction of property. Meanwhile, Adidja"Vybz Kartel" Palmer remains in police custody unable to make his $1 million bail.

Next week Wednesday is the day on which jailed dancehall deejay, Vybz Kartel will know for sure if his other murder case will be transferred to the Home Circuit Court. And, for his Mavado, his next court appearance in a malicious destruction of property case, is set for April 23. The two leading dancehall deejays both had a court dates on Tuesday.
Vybz Kartel appeared before the Gun Court section of the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court to hear whether the Director of Public Prosecutions had made a decision to transfer his case, but the court was told that the DPP had not yet decided

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, is charged jointly with Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald for the murder of businessman, Barrington Burton, who was killed in July last year, in Gregory Park, St. Catherine. Vybz Kartel has been offered bail on this murder charge, but has been unable to accept it because of another murder case. That case has to do with the killing of Clive Williams, otherwise called Lizard.
Meanwhile, Mavado whose real name is David Brooks, is on trial for malicious destruction of property following an incident last year in Montego Bay. Read more
